Face Mask Instructions and Important information

Thank you for choosing a Flashbay CWA 17553:2020 community face covering. Please follow
these instructions to ensure proper use.

Maximum number of washes:
Your face covering may be washed up to 25 times and must then be discarded and no longer

Cleaning Instructions:
Wash at 60ºC in a washing machine together with other items such as towels and/or sheets to aid
the washing process.

Use standard household detergent and do not use fabric softener. Do not dry clean or use other

Air dry in flat position in a warm dry place when the washing cycle has completed. Do not tumble
dry. Do not iron. Do not stretch or apply pressure to aid drying.

After each cleaning cycle you should wash your hands and check the face covering for any
damage (for example tears, deformation in shape, detachment of the ear loops etc) and discard if
damaged. Wearing / fading of any print is expected after repeated washing and does not
constitute damage.

  • In order to use this community face covering correctly, it is important that you follow these instructions.
  • If you are ill, this community face covering is unsuitable. Seek advice from your doctor.
  • This community face covering is not a medical device within the meaning of Directive 93/42/CEE or Regulation EU/2017/745 (surgical masks) nor is it personal protective equipment in the sense of Regulation EU/2016/425 (respiratory protective devices).
  • Always check that the community face covering is correctly fitted and covers your nose, mouth and chin.
  • It is recommended that this community face covering be worn on bare skin; beards can reduce the filtration efficiency to below the limits set out.
  • This community face covering does not replace protective measures (regular hand washing, physical separation, reduced contact with other people).It minimises the projection of user's respiratory droplets saliva into the environment.
  • Do not use when participating in vigorous physical activity.
  • Stop using this product at the first signs of damage.
  • The community face covering specified as reusable should be washed before the first use unless recommended by producer.
  • Do not use dry cleaning and fabric softener.
  • Clean the reusable community face covering after each use.
Usage instructions:
  1. Wash your hands before handling your face covering.
  2. Ensure your face covering is clean before wearing. Between uses follow the cleaning instructions above.
  3. Carefully place the face covering on your face, adjust the straps to fit comfortably and pinch the nose bridge to ensure a proper fit.
  4. Ensure the face covering covers your mouth, nose and chin.
  5. Check that you can breathe comfortably and that the face covering is well fitted to the face.
  6. Avoid touching the outside of the face covering with unclean hands once fitted. If you need to readjust the face covering wash your hands first.
  7. Remove the face covering by using the ear straps and avoid touching the outside surface of the face covering when removing. 
  8. Place the face covering into a suitable container such as a clean plastic bag to store for washing or dispose of directly into a suitable waste bin according to your local requirements for disposal of used face coverings.
  9. Wash your hands.
  10. Ensure you clean and dry the face covering fully after every use and do not wear again if already worn and not yet cleaned or if damaged.
  11. Dispose of after the maximum number of washes shown above, regardless of whether the face covering appears to be damaged or not.
